Get married at St Mary’s

As the setting for your wedding, we think you’ll find it hard to improve on St Mary’s. Such a magnificent backdrop is bound to make it a massively memorable occasion. And you can even use this remarkable space to host your reception afterwards!

Why a church wedding? Well, a wedding speaks volumes about tradition and you will be the latest in a long line of couples who have made their vows at St Mary’s. There’s nothing like doing things the time-tried and tested way. Many couples discover how ‘spiritual’ an event a wedding is. What better setting for it than in a church, in the presence of God, as well as family and friends?

You don’t have to be a churchgoer to be married at St Mary’s, but we will have to check you meet legal requirements. Once done, we will work with you to make sure the service is personal, to include the things which are important to you. 

If cost is a consideration, we’ll work with you to make sure the cost of your wedding does not get out of hand. Despite the size of St Mary’s church, our wedding fees are the same as any other church – currently £489.

Music and Choir

Many people that get married at St Mary’s choose to have a choir sing during their ceremony. The choir of St Mary’s is usually available to sing, whether it’s just to bolster the hymns or to perform a specific piece of music. Costs vary depending on how many singers are required.

Usually the organist will also provide music and accompaniment to hymns. He will be happy to discuss your requirements with you before the big day.
