St Mary’s is Nottingham’s greatest medieval building and an essential stop on any visit to the city. At the heart of the city’s vibrant Lace Market district, attracting visitors for its architectural splendour, the diverse range of events and concerts, and its renowned tradition of choral singing.
Robin Hood was arrested at St Mary’s by the Sheriff of Nottingham. So was George Fox who founded the Quakers. The parents of William Booth (founder of Salvation Army) were married here and there are lots of other interesting people associated with us. Definitely no trip to Nottingham is complete without visiting St Mary’s.
