Heritage Open Day Coming To St Mary’s

On Saturday 14 September St Mary’s will be hosting its own Heritage Open Day. This has become a somewhat annual thing, and we’re hoping to build on the success of last year and deliver another event to remember.

The main attraction will of course be our Tower Tours. We’re giving you the opportunity to explore our historic tower, see what goes on within, and take in the amazing, panoramic views from the top. Make sure to come and register when you arrive and we can give you a time for your tour.

For something new this year, we’re introducing a ‘Teddy Bear Abseil’. You and your family will be able to watch as a beloved soft toy descends gracefully from the tower to the ground, and you’ll get a certificate to help remember Teddy’s adventure.

We’re very excited to have Alex Kingswell with us. Alex is a local artist who creates beautiful textile designs, full of pattern and colour. Alex will have her display set up in the church from the 13th to the 22nd of September.

There will also be brass rubbing and refreshments available throughout the day to keep you both entertained and refreshed.

We’ll see you there between 10am and 4pm.
