Reshaping Policing Priorities for the Public
October 19, 2022 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Caroline Henry, Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire on how to balance policing priorites with public expectations.
Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) were first elected across England and Wales on the 15th November 2012. When PCCs took office they became responsible for a combined police force area budget. The role of the PCCs is to be the voice of the people, hold the police to account and have the responsibility for the totality of policing. Caroline was elected by the public in May 2021.
A decade on from the first elections we have the chance to have an INSIGHT into the work of the Nottinghamshire Commissioner herself.
Caroline has set a clear direction for policing, victim services and crime reduction to tackle the issues impacting upon or is likely to impact upon Nottinghamshire during her term in office.
She will speak about the challenges of matching these priorities and expectations of the public with the reshaping of national and local policing to confront current and future needs.
The talk includes a free buffet lunch made by local charity Refugee Roots. Please register to assist catering planning.
