On Sunday February 3rd we’ll be celebrating our Patronal Festival with two fine choral services. Matins [10.45am] will feature the Te Deum and Jubilate settings by Stanford along with the anthem Senex Puerum Portabat (The old man carried the child….) by Byrd. The mass setting for Solemn Eucharist [6.30pm] will be by Alessandro Taddei da Gandria and this will be accompanied in style by The English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble. Everyone is welcome.
This service will bring together the three great Epiphany stories – the Coming of the Magi, the Wedding at Cana and the Baptism of Christ at the Jordan, of course all within the context of wonderful music. There will be opportunity to renew Baptismal Vows. Everyone is most welcome.
